Mascot Project | 4KCBWDAY2

Think of or research a project that embodies your chosen house/animal.  Whatever element you choose, decide upon a project and blog about how and why it relates to your house/creature.
You do not have to make this project!  Blog about the journey that inspiration and investigation can often guide you through.

As I pondered this prompt, my eye fell on a ThinkGeek catalog, and it got me a-thinkin'.
Their mascot is a monkey!  I own a lot of their stuff!  Synergy!

There are lots of ThinkGeek products that appeal to the intelligence and the fun-loving nature of Monkeys...

* science is a marked presence
Biology 101 [Rav] by Emily Stoneking

* can't get enough gaming in life
Knitted Companion Cube [Rav] by Wren Montgomery

* they have a bit of a bacon obsession
Bacon Mittens [Rav] by SpillyJane

* like me, they're big into literature (Game of Thrones series, Tolkien)
Direwolf Mittens [Rav] by Carly Hill
Belladonna Took [Rav] shawlette by Melanie Gibbons

* the Force is strong with them
Lifesize R2D2 Cozy [Rav] by Sarah Rudder

* see also: Doctor Who
Doctor Who TARDIS Afghan [Rav] by Carrie Fritsche

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be in my bunk.

disclaimer disclaimer:  I'm not being paid by ThinkGeek or by the awesome pattern designers (or by anyone, really), they don't know I'm doing this, and I'm just an inspired fan!

I am becoming a Dr. Who fan. I have watched a couple episodes of the newer ones and a couple episodes of the classic. Curious as to which you prefer. I think I might like the classic a little more and need to build up to Star Wars-like characters having a presence in the more modern TV show.

I really enjoyed where you took today's post. I like how those of us on the geekier side of the fence feel comfortable going off a random tangent!

Great array of geeky projects! My husband and I are ardent ThinkGeek fans and do lots of Christmas/birthday shopping there (in fact, my Valentine's Day present was their Stargate coasters!).

Knitting and being a geek goes together quite good doesn't it?
Personally I like everything with a Tardis on it and I do like me some Games of Thrones inspired knit designs.

I loved the total ThinkGeekiness of your selected projects. I actually am the proud owner of their bacon lip balm so was excited to see the bacon mittens listed on your post.
